There has been increasing concern about the status of bat populations in the United States (U.S.) and territories. However, there have been few efforts to compile and evaluate the fragmented information available on this topic. In this paper, we summarize and review existing information on the status of bat colonies in the U.S. and territories. We compiled a central database to store estimates of colony sizes made by others.
