USGS research biologist Paul Cryan will be presenting talks in two symposia at the North American Symposium on Bat Research Oct. 23-25 in Scranton, PA. The first will address the patterns and hypothesized causes of bat fatalities at wind turbines, to which migratory species are particularly susceptible. In the second, Dr. Cryan will discuss the hypothesized causes of white nose syndrome in bats, a condition severely impacting colonies of hibernating bats during the past two years, including the federally listed Indiana bat.
