The USGS Information Technology Security Operations Team (ITSOT) is responsible for implementing IT security standards and guidelines throughout the Bureau. Through an agreement with the Geospatial Information Office (GIO), FORT staff offer field expertise and capabilities as well as input to the efficient development and implementation of Bureau-wide IT plans. This work involves services related to antivirus support and server configuration and management, backup and disaster recovery strategies, configuration and implementation of auditing and compliance systems, and central reporting solutions for the full range of IT management activities.
