For each adaptation approach, authors were asked to consider two separate but related elements of confidence. The first elements is the amount of evidence that is available to assess the effectiveness of a given adaptation approach (indicating that the topic is well-studied and understood). The second is the level of agreement or consensus across the different lines of evidence regarding the effectiveness of the adaptation approach.
