Modeling Africanized Honey Bees

Africanized honey be.

On Oct. 14-16, FORT and NASA scientists will host an applied science/modeling workshop at the Fort Collins Science Center to review and demonstrate the Software for Automated Habitat Modeling (SAHM). The workshop will be held in the RAM (Resource for Advanced Modeling), formerly the Advanced Modeling Room at FORT. FORT and NASA scientists and other invited partners will apply the multiple SAHM modules to generate Africanized Honey Bee habitat maps for different regions in the U.S. and for the entire U.S. Participants will develop a solid understanding of, and hands-on experience in, modeling this invasive species’ potential distribution. Attendees will also discuss the coordination of future modeling efforts and public communications of the model results.
