A joint meeting of the Society for the Preservation of Natural History Collections and the Natural Science Collections Alliance will be held May 23-27 in Albuquerque, NM, to highlight collaborative efforts of scientific collections with other museums, state and government organizations, private entities, and international groups. With a theme of “The Road to Productive Partnerships,” the meeting offers workshops and sessions on topics relevant to natural history collections and their various partners. USGS scientist Cindy Ramotnik, one of the two hosts for the meeting, oversees the USGS vertebrate collection at the University of New Mexico Museum of Southwestern Biology.
