The Partners in Flight Implementation Committee and Federal Agency Committee will meet in conjunction with the North American Wildlife and Natural Resources Conference, March 14-17 in Arlington, VA. USGS research ecologist Janet Ruth, the Partners in Flight Co-Coordinator for the USGS and national PIF Research Working Group chair, will present on Web updates, including (1) the online availability of the North American Landbird Conservation Plan (to be available shortly at http://www.partnersinflight.org) and (2) Web-based species accounts, which Dr. Ruth compiled, that summarize priority research and monitoring needs for each of the 100 continental watch-list species identified in the plan (available now at http://www.partnersinflight.org/WatchListNeeds/default.htm). Partners in Flight is a coalition of government agencies, conservation organizations, industry, academia, and others working together to promote bird conservation in the western hemisphere. Dr. Ruth maintains the PIF Web site, which is served through the USGS Patuxent Wildlife Research Center.
