Managers of operational and research programs involving the invasive brown treesnake and agency administrators in the Pacific Islands have been working cooperatively to control the spread of this harmful pest. Signatories to the MOU on Brown Treesnakes and members of the federally mandated Brown Treesnake Control Committee will meet April 15-18 in Honolulu, HI, to discuss inter- and intra-agency and governmental commitment and collaboration associated with brown treesnake management and research. Representatives attending are from the U.S. Departments of the Interior, Agriculture, Transportation, Defense, and Commerce, and from Hawaii, Guam, and the Northern Mariana Islands. This meeting for signatories and members will focus on brown treesnake control and interdiction to reduce the risk of spread, brown treesnake management on Guam, and research. In addition, one session will provide an open forum for discussion with the public and concerned decision-makers.
