On 14 June 2012 USGS scientist Robert Reed is giving a 1-hour invited talk, entitled "Invasive Snakes of Interest to Refuges," to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Refuges Annual Integrated Pest Management and Invasive Species Regional Coordinators' Meeting, being held at the USFWS Natural Resource Program Center, Fort Collins, CO. Dr. Reed will discuss problems related to invasive constrictor snakes in Florida, water snakes in California, boa constrictors in Puerto Rico, and the brown treesnake on Guam--all of which he and his team have worked on. On 11 July 2012 he'll give the "giant python" half of the USGS Public Lecture in Reston, VA, "Under siege: Battling flying carp and giant pythons and how science can help."
