USGS Scientist Helps Forest Managers Understand Climate Change Impacts

USGS scientist Jill Baron is on a team of experts the U.S. Forest Service is “touring” to different forests to educate managers on the potential impacts of climate change on national forest lands and resources. At the Dakota Badlands National Grassland symposium on Dec. 5 in Bismarck, N.D., and the Custer National Forest symposium held Dec. 11 in Billings, Mont., Dr. Baron, a lead author on the U.S. Climate Change Science Program report on adaptation options for climate-sensitive ecosystems and resources, presented on “Climate Change and Adaptation Options for Resource Management.” She will present again for the Tahoe National Forest (Cal.-Nev.) in March.
