USGS Scientists Describe Mountain Ecosystem Responses to Climate Change

USGS scientists Jill Baron and Dan Fagre were on a 3-member press conference panel on climate change science related to mountain ecosystems at the American Geophysical Union meeting Dec. 10-14 in San Francisco. Using examples from research they conducted in Glacier and Rocky Mountain national parks, the two USGS researchers plus a University of Utah scientist discussed the responses of mountain ecosystems to climate change, including unexpected trends, rates of change, and management implications.
