The Brown Treesnake (BTS) Technical Working Group Spring 2012 meeting, held 25 April 2012 on Guam, featured presentations on BTS research and control and interdiction efforts, as well as newly emerging invasive species issues in the Marianas. Presenters were from the University of Guam, Guam Department of Agriculture, Department of Defense, U.S. Department of Agriculture, and USGS (including Colorado State University collaborators and others). The general public and interested parties were invited to attend. USGS scientists and collaborators' presentations included the following:

    · Overview of USGS/CSU research efforts, 2009 to present (Robert N. Reed, Julie A. Savidge, and Gordon H. Rodda)

    · Unintended consequences and ecological complexity associated with control of the brown treesnake (Robert N. Reed, Gordon H. Rodda, Julie A. Savidge, Bjorn Lardner, and Amy A. Yackel Adams)

    · The problem posed by small BTS in operational control (Bjorn Lardner, Julie A. Savidge, Robert N. Reed, Gordon H. Rodda, Amy A. Yackel Adams, and Shane R. Siers)

    · Targeting the small snakes: Where have we been and where are we going? (Bjorn Lardner, Julie A. Savidge, Robert N. Reed, Gordon H. Rodda, Amy A. Yackel Adams, and Peter J. Schupp)
